Kora
The Kora is a 21 or 22 string West African bridge harp traditionally played by hereditary griots from the Mandinka people of Senegal, Gambia, Mali and Guinea.
The Kora is usually tuned in in the keys of E, F or G in a heptatonic scale.
I use cow or calf skins that are fairly traded from suppliers in Mali or Pakistan.
The calabash are sourced from Niger, Mali or Burkina Faso.
I predominantly use reclaimed and UK grown oak for the necks, handles and bridges.
